Learn how to make a smooth, café-style caramel macchiato at home using simple tools, clear steps, and easy ingredients in just 5–7 minutes.
The Process
Add Vanilla Syrup: Pour 1 tbsp vanilla syrup into the bottom of your mug. This creates the sweet base that blends with milk later.
Heat and Froth Milk: Heat milk to 60–65°C (140–150°F). The milk should feel hot but not boiling. Froth using a steam wand, French press, or jar shaking method until light foam forms.
Pour Milk: Slowly pour the hot milk into the mug over the vanilla syrup. Leave about 1–2 cm space at the top for espresso and foam.
Add Espresso (Macchiato Method): Slowly pour espresso through the foam layer. The coffee should sit on top, creating visible layers.
Add Caramel Drizzle: Drizzle caramel sauce in a spiral or cross pattern. This adds aroma and sweetness to every sip.
